Frequently Asked Questions

Do you book one night stays?
Yes, you can make advanced reservations for a one night stay any night of the week, except for Saturdays (and Holidays).  If rooms are available on a Saturday, we are more than happy to book for a one night stay on a last minute basis only.

Do you have Fireplaces?
Yes, all guestrooms have the ambiance of a fireplace, whether it be a small electric fireplace, a wonderful gas fireplace, or a gorgeous rock wood burning fireplace.  We also have a fabulous firepit in the yard that has become a favorite of our guests.

Do you have Cable TV?

Yes, we offer cable tv, vcr & dvd players, and cd/idpod stereos tucked in cabinets in each guestroom.  Our video collection is extensive, and the dvd collection will continue to grow.  Directv is available at An Eagle in the Pines Cabin, as well as DVD and VCR.

Do you have A/C?

Yes, we are lucky enough to have air-conditioning for the warm summer months and forced heat in the home for the chilly falls and the snowy winters.

Can we check in early?

A place to park at the home and a quick tour of the B&B can always be accommodated.  However, depending on the occupancy of your reserved guestroom the previous night, we may need until 3:00pm to complete our afternoon chores and ensure a clean, well-maintained establishment for our guests.  An Eagle in the Pines Cabin Check in is 4:00pm.

How late can we check in?

We are more than happy to check our guests in up until 8:00 or 9:00pm.  After that, we can always make arrangements for our guests to check themselves in.  Because we live in our own home next to the B&B, we are always here for our guests.  An Eagle in the Pines Cabin is Self-Check in and Self-Check out.  We will send you the lock box code and directions to the home.

Do you accept children?

Yes, we warmly welcome school-aged kids, ages 5 years+.  The Summer Room allows for up to three people and the Spring Room can accommodate up to four ($50/person/night additional in each guestroom).  An Eagle in the Pines Cabin welcomes kids of all ages in that it is self-contained and private to you and your family.  Up to six people can be accommodated in An Eagle in the Pines Cabin.

Do you accept pets?

Because of the four golden retrievers we have on the property, we do not accept outside pets at the B&B, but we gladly welcome them at Eagle in the Pines Cabin.  Please visit our web page for additional information.

What do you serve for breakfast?

We serve a full country breakfast at 9:00am, prepared by Jim, your Swiss-trained chef.  We always have hot teas, fresh brewed coffee and fresh squeezed juice, fresh breads and fresh fruits, followed by a hot entrée.  We prepare a family-style menu based on guests dietary restrictions and requests.  An Eagle in the Pines Cabin is self-contained, with a fully equipped kitchen, and does not include breakfast with your visit.

Does it snow?

Yes, it actually can snow from December thru April or May, but mostly can storm in February and March.  The storm has to come down from Alaska for the air to be cold enough.

Do you book the whole house for groups?

Yes, however all guestrooms are reserved as single or double occupancy, up to eleven people, additional charges apply above 8 people.  Each room must be confirmed by a one night’s deposit, whether it be by individual occupants or by the host of the group or family.  An Eagle in the Pines Cabin can be booked for up to Six people, (additional charges apply).

Is there enough to do in Julian for a 2 or 3 night stay?

Absolutely, even 4 or 5 nights depending on how much you want to do or how far you want to explore.  Keep in mind that a trip to Julian is also about doing nothing, relaxing in the hammock, reading a book by the fireplace, or floating on a raft in the pool.
